Recommended Diet:

We at Bluebonnet Sphynx recommend feeding a biologically appropriate diet.  Cats are Obligate Carnivores, and as such, raw meat is their species appropriate diet.  In the wild, cats hunt for birds, small rodents and lizards, maybe even insects.  This is why we do NOT recommend kibble.  Kibble is completely processed with many additives, and can seriously affect your kitten's digestion and health in a negative manner.  Also cats usually get their moisture from their food and are not usually attracted to drinking water, so a diet consisting of dried kibble can cause urinary crystals and/or kidney stones. Canned food is better than dry, but a balanced raw diet is the best you can feed your cats & Kittens.  All of our kittens are weaned directly to raw, since it is sometime difficult to transition to raw from kibble, which is designed to be very tasty and addictive.  Below you can find links to some of our favorite recipes to make your own BALANCED raw as well as links to pre-made raw diets if making your own isn't for you.  Remember to re-hydrate freeze dried foods for moisture!
